This week marks a new chapter for George Strait, who launches his final tour this Friday with a sold-out show in Lubbock, Texas. When looking to see who should open for him on the road, King George chose one of his favorite female vocalists, Martina McBride.
George says, “Martina’s certainly one of the greatest female artists out there. She’s just incredible, an incredible singer and a great person. We have a lot of fun out there with her.”
George insists that the Cowboy Rides Away tour is not a retirement trek. He still plans to perform here and there, and to record new music. His single “Give It All We Got Tonight” is out now.
